Looking into full coilover systems...

I'm looking for a system that will keep me slammed. I'm tired of bouncing all over the road. Of the systems I've been looking into (Buddy Club, Ksport, BWR), I haven't been able to find a "height adjustment", or how low they will go. Anyone know of a good set? Trying to stay under 1500

Also, has anyone heard of Blackworks Racing? They have a set that looks pretty decent for 750. I'd like to hear some input on these

That's a terrible way to base your decision. I know they're not "full coilovers" but I'd go with Neuspeed Koni's and GC coils for a more dialed in system.

I want low, slammed, hammered. Big Mike's car is not. Sure, he may not have it as low as it will go, but I posted my question to hear from others who actually have the systems

I had GC, and I didn't like them. I couldn't go as low as I am now

Thanks Frank. Do you have a suggestion? I'm kinda leaning toward the Buddy Clubs, the cheaper set instead of the full race set

Im not familiar with Buddy Club coils for the Prelude, but I know the Civic SI guys love them. I've also heard good things about Megan Racing, K Sport, D2, TEIN obviously, and Function and Form.

ffxbb6 has buddy clubs on his 5th gen as far as I know, you could talk to him.

I know what you're saying about ground controls. I'm not happy with how low mine go either, and OTS spring rates suck with bilsteins. They make shorter springs for them that I might check out, but I probably need shorter shocks first.

Saying something is good enough for you because it is good enough for someone else, in this case Big Mike, is asinine. You don't know what he uses his car for, how hard he drives it or why he chose them. I love Big Mike's lude, but I'm not going to look to it every time I want to add a new part or upgrade to my car. I'm going to do the research myself and find out what I want and what is going to be best for me. The problem with coilover kits like the function form is that it is x-way adjustable and adjusts the compression and rebound at the same time instead of individually. So no matter what setting you put the shock to you're never gonna have the 2 exactly where you want them. This is fine for a lot of people who don't care about this fact and many will find this fine because most of us DD our cars. I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem with a KSport/Tein/FF/Buddy Club etc. kit daily driving, but I would rather be able to get the rebound dialed in to where I want it instead of trying to fiddle with 32 combinations of rebound/compression. Sure you may be able to get 1 damping setting where you want it, but you could be sacrificing on the other, so you compromise and put it somewhere in the middle. You can also rebuild the Koni's for spring rates past ~550, shorten them if you wish and even add a compression valve. With the Koni/GC setup you can go further in terms of tuning and customization.

My suspension setup right now is shit, H&R lowering springs on stock shocks. Next month though you can be sure that I'll be picking up some SP3 Konis, GC springs and maybe even a sway bar. The OP said he wanted to be slammed, the Neuspeed Konis have 5 perche locations for more height adjustability. I'm not trying to offend anyone with a coilover kit by any means, I'm just stating what I think to be the best suspension setup for your money. If I'm wrong on anything feel free to correct me.

KYB AGX...im trying to decide between buying the Konis and keeping my current coilovers (Matrix, 500 front 400 rear), or buying a full coilover system...if its not much more money to buy a great set of coilovers then thats probably what i will do

Hate them, why? I'm not trying to start anything--this is for my own (and the OP's) personal research...I've researched the company and have my own take on who they are and whatnot, but people, for example, will get something really stiff, get jarred up, and say it sucked, you know? So, why'd you hate them? Comfort, performance, construction/quality, adjustment capabilities? Explain, if you will...

Good to see we still have a few big boys on the site that know how to step up and still make sense of themselves through their explanation.

Looking into full coilover systems...

Blackworks were cheaply made. No adjustments other than ride height. Harsh and bouncy out of the box and caused serious positive camber. How? I don't know.

For the extra $100-150 I'd go with megans or k sports.

What Frank said...LoL!!!

Seriously though, its all about what a consumer wants to pay, and what he/she will use the suspension for like: Daily, track, Racing...

Ksports are a good all around suspension in my opinion.

GC and Konis are good, but the problem with GC is that you will not get a perfect drop on all sides, you will tend to compress the spring tighter on a side to make the drop even.

A truecoilover system is perfect for daily or track. For a specific Race vehicle then spend the extra dough for a high end suspension.

Pm me and I can get you a Kontrol Pro system for a good price.

ok, i think the best bang for my buck is getting the function and forms (type ones) or getting the SP3 konis and keeping my coilovers...what do you guys think would be better? i know i can go even lower than i am now with the konis, the f&fs im a little worried about...can someone with a 4th gen please chime in about the f&fs?
